Logara New Yam Festival (Iriji) 2015

Logara Autonomous Community, Eze-In-Council and Logara Community Development Union (LCDU), jointly celebrated her annual “Iriji” ceremony, on 17-August-2015.

It was a grand success event for which our Eze, HRH Eze Felix Njoku, Ogaraku II of Logara, returned to our homeland from USA where he went for medical treatement. The President-General of LCDU, Sir Peter A. Ogwuru, came from his Lagos residence as he has done several times since his election into the office in November 2014. Lots of eminent Logara sons and daughters attended the event and donated very generously to the development of our community.

A glamorous aspect of the event was the display of our “Nwokorobo” dance revived from almost extinction, again by our illustrious son and son of our Eze, Rev. Fr (Dr) Anthony Njoku. It was thrilling to have the dance compliment our women dance group which has been gracing past events.

Below is a picture of Eze Felix I. Njoku, Ogaraku II of Logara, at the highlight of the event -cutting of roasted yam (iwaji)
